If you talk to a man in a language he understands, that goes to his head. If you talk to him in his language, that goes to his heart.

Nelson Mandela

When communicating with each other, a mutual understanding is an essential objective and this understanding automatically takes place at different levels.

As people with different mother tongues and varying foreign language skills come together in the context of the Citizens’ Meeting, we would not like the wealth or diversity of the languages that are spoken to become an obstacle to participants when meeting each other and, moreover, when communicating more extensively.

You would like to meet new people, are proficient in languages and would like to offer your skills within the EBB 2020?

Super! You decide when and to what extent (in terms of time) you want to offer your “interpreting skills” within the framework of the EBB 2020. This can, for example, be for a specific workshop or during the social/supporting programme of the EBB 2020. Let us know. We would be so grateful for your contribution!
