Multicultural cities have been around for a long time; in Central and Eastern Europe they have been a matter of course for centuries, a melting pot of cultures and a laboratory for the coexistence of different cultural groups. Prof Miłosława Borzyszkowska-Szewczyk from Gdansk and Jurcho Prochasko from Lviv provide an insight into the multicultural life of these two cities. A narrative about hierarchies, interdependencies, ambivalences and inequality. This will be followed by a panel discussion involving today’s Kassel.
