On the way to a climate-neutral Europe? A regional perspective

Carbon neutrality by 2050: In order to achieve this goal, the European Commission has presented the European Green Deal, an extremely ambitious package of measures for a sustainable ecological change with benefits for the people and the economy in Europe. As part of the European Green Deal, the EU member states have agreed to reduce emissions by at least 55% by 2030 compared to the levels of 1990. The so-called fit-for-55 package will readjust climate, energy and transport-related EU legislation to the goals set by the EU. With the Green Deal the European Union is pointing the way, change, however, has to happen locally.

During an approximately two-hour walking tour, experts will present local projects and measures that help to achieve the climate goals. Between the stops, we will discuss the Commission’s proposals and our regional perspectives: What are the packages effect on our regions? What effects of climate change are noticeable in your region or country? Which local measures and initiatives contribute to achieving the climate goals?
