We are pleased that you are coming to the EBB 2022 in Kassel! On this page you will find all the important answers regarding participation in the EBB and the individual programme points.

Before the EBB 2022

You have successfully registered online and we have confirmed your registration. Maybe you already know your host family and have contacted them. If not, please contact us and we will send you their contact details.

Arriving in Kassel

The Kassel long-distance and high-speed train station is Kassel-Wilhelmshöhe. Trains leave from there for all of Germany. The biggest airports around Kassel are Frankfurt am Main and Hannover. From there, high-speed trains are available and will take you into Kassel.

Travel expenses
If you have applied for a travel allowance from us or would like to apply for one, we will reimburse the costs in the amount in which we have approved or will approve the applications. Please keep your tickets safe! We will only reimburse costs on presentation of the tickets.

Arrival in Kassel on Thursday 01.09.2022

When you arrive in Kassel on 01.09., you will be met by your host parents. Please arrange with them beforehand when and how you will arrive in Kassel, so that they can meet you at your place of arrival.

Opening

The opening ceremony will take place on 1 September at 6 pm in the Matthäuskirche, Am Fronhof 3, 34134 Kassel. You and your host parents are cordially invited. From 5 pm we will distribute bus and train tickets and a welcome bag with all the important things for the next few days. So please be there as early as possible! In the bag you will also find: a city map, a flyer and the programme.

Getting to the Matthäuskirche with public transport

The next tram stop is “Dennhäuser Straße”. From there, Lines 5 and 6 run regularly to the city centre. You can get a tram in every direction from the city center.

Meeting of the workshops

After the opening there will be a short meeting of the workshop participants with the workshop leaders to get to know each other and to make first arrangements. So look forward to making new friends over the next 2 days!

Get Together

Afterwards, all participants, host families, organisers and others will meet for dinner, conversation and getting to know each other.

Friday

On Friday there will be 2 workshop modules. If you have not yet registered for a workshop, you are welcome to do so here. The times and starting places of the workshops can also be found on the corresponding page.

Friday evening at 7 pm we will meet again in the Matthäuskirche. There we can talk about the workshops and have dinner together. A great surprise awaits us!

Saturday

On Saturday morning there will be another workshop module. Place and time are also on the corresponding page.

Saturday afternoon there will be a European demonstration followed by a rally in Kassel city centre. The motto is “Europe is strong!”. We will meet at Scheidemannplatz at 2pm and then march together to the town hall. The rally will start there at 3 pm.

At 7 pm we will meet again at the Matthäusgemeinde. There, the “Europe Party” will take place with talks, music, dancing and food.

Sunday

We are cordially invited to the mass celebration with European and world citizens at 11 am in the Josephkirche (Marburger Straße 87).

Otherwise Sunday is the day of departure. Perhaps there will be some time left for a tour of the documenta or the other sights. Kassel also has a lot to offer outside the EBB!
